Empowering Minds. Building Brighter Futures.
Supporting education and innovation.
Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and feel confident in their abilities. The Teacher Tutor Program free drop-in tutoring sessions provide a welcoming space where students can receive support in reading, writing, and math concepts from a certified teacher in Early Childhood General and Special Education.
Whether students need help understanding a new concept, completing an assignment, or building foundational skills, they will be met with patience, encouragement, and support in a positive library setting. Our goal is to help students strengthen their academic skills, develop confidence, and foster a love of learning— one session at a time.
The Approach
Our tutoring sessions focus on building strong foundations in reading, writing, and mathematics and meeting students where they are academically. We provide support that strengthens skills and promotes independence. We take time to learn about each student’s strengths, interests, and academic needs. Our goal is to empower students to become lifelong learners.
The Process
1. Meet & Connect: We take pride in meeting our students and families.
2. Identify Learning Goals: Together, we determine areas where support is needed.
3. Practice & Reinforce Skills: Through guided practice, positive reinforcement, and hands-on learning experiences.
4. Continue Learning: We recognize progress and celebrate each student accomplishments but families are encouraged to support students learning beyond tutoring by ongoing practice at home.
Support for Communities
Education happens within the context of a larger community. Our approach extends beyond the school to help ensure students have the necessary support to do their best learning. With our Certified Teacher Tutors, the support from our local libraries, and of course with the support from You (The Parents) together we can build brighter futures!
